Attention: thing unrelated to pop culture art!

Many of you know that my wonderful, hilarious, spicy, comforting mom died 5 years ago when I was 19.  So, naturally, Mother’s Day is one of the hardest times of the year for me.  In 2011, right at the end of my last year of college, I was feeling really crummy about Mother’s Day, and, after some googling, found out about a really heartwarming documentary that was in production, called The Club, all about women whose moms died when they were young.

The documentary meant so much to me that I ended up becoming a production assistant for the filmmakers, Carlye Rubin and Katie Green. I helped them out with the kickstarter campaign when the documentary was still in its infancy.  Now, I am so pleased to say that the documentary, now renamed The (Dead Mothers) Club, has officially premiered on HBO!!!

If any of you have HBO, or access to a kind cousin or friend’s HBO Go password (my preferred method, haha), you can watch it now!  The (Dead Mothers) Club stars 3 lovely noncelebrity women, as well as Rosie O’Donnell, Jane Fonda, and Molly Shannon, and I’m in the credits (eee!).

I hope you all had a delightful (or at least not horrible) Mother’s Day. <3
